The shameless cliché, “FOR THE SAKE OF UNITY” has been used countless times. This has become an excuse for gossiping, conspiring, and omitting people from attending or joining meetings, including pastor fellowships. People have been prevented from speaking at functions, such as when President Obama removed Rev. Franklin Graham from speaking at the National Day of Prayer, due to pressure from other leaders. 

America has reached this pathetic state where the sins of abomination, including idolatry, immorality, killing the innocent and dividing the land of Israel are flaunted, and the innocent are betrayed even by their supposedly righteous friends, all for the sake of unity. 

Isaiah 5:13 reads, “Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.” 

Americans are being betrayed by their fellow citizens, family, friends, political and church leaders, supposedly for the sake of unity. The nation is growing weaker as sin goes unabated to keep unity so the guilty or fearful continue to work together. 

Isaiah 5:14-16 warns, “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. And the mean men shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.” 

FOR THE SAKE OF UNITY, more people will now be destroyed and sent to eternity without hope because the righteous compromised with the guilty, causing truth, morality, and justice to suffer. 

Betrayal and unity are words that have run together. The innocent are often betrayed and have become victims to bring unity amongst the guilty/unrighteous. This is why America is decaying. Most Christians and their leaders are like King Saul and his army. They hid in the trenches when Goliath vented his blasphemies against God and Saul’s army. When a David steps up today, with the faith to challenge sin publicly, many leaders are like the Sadducees and Pharisees who talked (gossiped) behind Christ’s back. They plotted to betray Jesus all in the name of unity. Their reasoning went like this; “Jesus cannot be invited to speak because his message is controversial and stirs up our enemies, the Romans. In fact, let’s get one of his close friends to betray Jesus so we can have him arrested. We can tell the friend that he would be keeping the peace if he helps us. Peace and unity would be preserved by keeping Jesus away from addressing the crowds.” We have so many pathetic, gutless leaders today who are afraid to rock the boat. In large public prayer gatherings, they will only pray generic prayers that will not offend anyone. Sin is not mentioned so unity can continue. Consequently, the National Day of 

Prayer becomes a farce, accomplishing nothing. Leaders that believe in God’s morality and those who believe in alternate lifestyles, pray together in unity some generic, worthless, non offensive words. Thus, for the sake of unity, Jesus is betrayed by someone close to Him. 

Isaiah 5:20-21 reads, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” 

Foolish leaders continue to listen to their fellow col- leagues even though their colleagues are sinful, backing alternate lifestyles. Cowardly, like King Saul, they remove righteous David’s from speaking at public events because these leaders think they are wise and prudent. In their own vanity, they think they are maintaining unity, when in fact they are allowing a sick church and nation to continue in their vomit, until God allows tremendous judgment to fall on them and the nation! 

Hosea 4:6-7 states, “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.” 

Again, the warnings of God are so clear. When people and leaders don’t want a leader to speak because the truth (knowledge) he shares might cause controversy, then the people are left in their sins. Judgment is certain and all because some church pastors wanted to keep the peace and unity. 

Christian leaders during World War II betrayed their fellow citizens. They turned them in to the Gestapo because these patriots were speaking against the crimes and sins of Adolph Hitler. Many church leaders used the excuse, “FOR THE SAKE OF UNITY” we must not allow these patriots to speak. Because of their fears and cowardliness, they stopped their fellow citizens from causing dissension by forbidding them to speak at public prayer meetings, etc. 

Conservatives in America have constantly lost moral issues because they continue to compromise for the sake of unity. I don’t believe Jesus would be allowed to speak in over half of the churches in America, nor would He be allowed to speak at the National Day of Prayer. Franklin Graham and others were forbidden because some pathetically weak, spineless pastor wanted to “KEEP THE UNITY”. That pastor has put his confidence in himself and not his faith in God, thus the people continue in rebellion and sin. Judgment continues to escalate as the nation rots from within as did the Republic of Rome. Judgment is certain for America because too many King Saul’s are preventing David’s from speaking.
