In the Great Commission it is so very clear that the followers of Jesus Christ are not to be politically correct. They must challenge the values, beliefs, biases, prejudices, and norms of the culture in which they live.
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV) (Empahsis mine)
All through the entire Bible, the followers of God were urged to live their lives with a different set of values and priorities than the society in which they lived. People recorded in the Bible, as well as Christians in many countries today, who have lived their lives representing God faithfully, have been criticized, persecuted, and many millions killed for their faith. Both in the Old and New Testaments, the prophets and apostles called for the leaders of nations to repent or face the judgment of God. The Bible is clear that abortion, murder, adultery, fornication, pornography, incest, homosexuality, drunkenness, and idolatry are all sins that bring judgment on a person and/or nation.
America is in a spiritual and cultural battle for the soul of the nation. Christian leaders, as well as believers themselves, cannot be ashamed, fearful or apologetic for the values and beliefs that are taught in the Scriptures. Politicians and pastors who profess to be Christians must be willing to stand up for Judeo-Christian values and beliefs and be willing to classify lifestyles such as abortion, homosexuality, and same-sex marriage as immoral and sinful. All leaders, whether Christian politicians or pastors, must be articulate enough in their profession to be able to communicate that the Bible is clear...Jesus loves and taught His followers to love the people involved in these sins. However, they must warn them that their sins will cause problems on earth such as diseases and separation from God in death. Unless they repent, they will be eternally judged for their sins on this earth.
Again, this is the Great Commission! We must all evangelize the culture in which we live. We are to proclaim the values, beliefs, and morality of the Bible as a mandate. We must warn of the dangers of sin, death, and hell. Forget political correctness! We must be polite but not politically correct. We must not be weak, compromising, or cowardly, acting as if we are more concerned about our own reputation and survival than we are of being a true, loyal disciple of Jesus Christ...even when we are being brow beaten by the liberal political left!
The battle is raging on in the spirit realm. It is in full swing in liberal, atheistic, and religious circles who reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and deny that He is the only way to our Father God in heaven. Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Congressmen, and all believers...we must understand that it is our responsibility, without fear or apology, to proclaim that Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation and eternal life. We must proclaim that sin is real, and that the consequences of sin is death! "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 (KJV)
America’s prosperity has been based on our Christian Heritage. In eleven out of the original thirteen colonies a candidate for office was required to declare that Jesus Christ was their Lord and Savior in order to be eligible for a public office. The Bible was used in the courtroom to decide guilt or innocence based on what was taught in the Scriptures regarding morality, values, behaviors, and beliefs.
The United States of America is unique in that it was the only nation other than Israel that had its foundation built on Judeo-Christian values and beliefs. Either we get back to our Christian roots or we will lose our freedoms as believers. Our nation will become damned by behaviors such as abortion, homosexuality, pornography, adultery, fornication, idolatry and others which are described clearly in the Bible as sins that bring judgment on a person and/or nation if the nation ascribes to the "sins of abomination".
