Today, I'm sharing on a delicate topic. We've all encountered instances where God didn't align with our expectations, resulting in sentiments of disillusionment, wrath, and bitterness. It could be unanswered prayers for healing or financial relief, bereavement, distressing relationships, or unmet hopes in ministry or profession that can all contribute to these feelings.

Even biblical figures experienced similar struggles. Job, after enduring the loss of family, health, and possessions, questioned God's goodness (Job 3:25-26). David felt abandoned during Absalom's rebellion, crying out to God in Psalm 22:1-2. Asaph battled with envy and uncertainty in Psalm 73:21-26. These examples remind us that we're not alone in our doubts and fears.

However, holding grudges against God comes with dangers. Unforgiveness hinders spiritual growth, causing stagnation (Matthew 6:14-15). Resentment consumes our thoughts, leading to emotional turmoil (Psalm 38:3-4). Moreover, unforgiveness distorts our perception of God's character, creating a skewed view of His goodness and sovereignty.

To break free, we must release the grudge. This begins with acknowledging our emotions, recognizing and expressing our pain to God (Psalm 142:2). Next, we forgive God, choosing to release resentment and trust Him (Matthew 6:14-15). Finally, we refocus on God's goodness, remembering His faithfulness (Psalm 103:2-4).

Holding grudges against God is natural, but destructive. Forgiveness releases us from emotional bondage, allowing us to experience spiritual freedom, deepen our intimacy with God, and see His goodness, even in darkness. As we conclude, let's pray: "Lord, I release my grudges against You. Forgive my doubts and resentment. Show me Your goodness and faithfulness. Amen."

May God's mercy and love compel us to release our grudges and forgive, embracing a more intimate and trusting relationship with Him.
