I was reading Philippians 3:10, "That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death."
There’s a yearning from Paul to connect to Jesus on a deep relational level. Nothing else mattered to him except the relationship between him and the Lord.
"But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ." Philippians 3:7
He was willing to lose every earthly possession for the sake of intimately knowing the Lord. To experience a relationship with Jesus, it meant sharing in the fellowship of His suffering even if it meant death.
He taught that "the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with His comfort through Christ," 2 Corinthians 1:5.
Paul said also that, Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ will suffer persecution. We ought not to be surprised at the fiery trials we go through as if something strange is happening to us. Instead we are to be glad for these trials, they make you partners with Christ in His suffering, the end is joy of seeing His glory when it is revealed. To be like Christ, we must enter the fellowship of His suffering and death so that the life of Jesus may be seen in our bodies.
We have just returned from a three week road trip to Idaho, Oklahoma and Kansas. We had great meetings and shared the gospel. We did get into a small accident but no one was hurt. We thank God. The enemy is out there causing great attacks to the body of Christ, to those who want to go deeper in Him, he is causing great affliction. And so, we pray that you may overcome. Pray for us, our health, finances and also God’s direction.
Pray for more open doors for Dr. Hansen to minister in this season. To bring truth to the church that strongly needs an awakening.
